Audition Skills
Prepare to land the part! Come to this fun and experiential workshop where you will be taught practical audition skills, learn audition “do’s and don’ts,” and have a chance to participate in a mock audition. Acting and Musical Theatre auditions will be covered. This workshop is perfect for young people interested in auditioning for the Salem County Vo-Tech Theatre Academy (accepting high school students from Salem and Cumberland Counties) and the Landis Youth Theater. This workshop won’t guarantee you get the role but it will provide you with the necessary tools you need for a favorable audition.
    • Come prepared to move! Close-toed shoes and flexible clothing are a must.
    • If you have a monologue and/or song you may bring it to use in the mock audition. Don’t worry if you don’t have anything prepared, material will be provided

Stage Make-Up
Blood, bruises and wrinkles – Oh my! This hands-on workshop will teach you basic, character, and special effect stage make-up techniques. You will practice applying your own make-up and applying it to your friends. Proper hygiene, application, and storage of make-up products will be addressed. Product recommendations will be given, ensuring you are prepared for your next performance.
     • Dress appropriately – we can’t guarantee that you won’t get sparkles or blood (fake, of course!) on your clothes.
     • Make-up will be provided for the purposes of demonstration with the exception of eyeliner and mascara. You are welcome to bring your own eyeliner and mascara, but it is not necessary.

Theatrical Design
If you build it they will come. Techies, this workshop is for you! Even if you’re a performer at heart it is essential that every actor have a working knowledge of technical theatre and the principles of theatrical design. This workshop will delight technical theatre enthusiasts while enlightening the rest of you theatre folk. You will have fun creating projects and shaping worlds in this hands-on workshop that focuses on costume and set design.

Playwriting & Devising
The play’s the thing! This workshop will give you the tools and inspiration you need to get your fingers dancing across your keyboard. Gather great writing tips and practical advice. Put pen to paper as we explore various scene starters and character creators. Once you’re done with words, words, words we will put down our pencils and shift from writing to devising. This experiential portion of the workshop will have you up and moving as you explore new and exciting ways to create theatre. This workshop will be especially useful for those planning to participate in the Drama Days “Play-in-a-Day” festival.

Dance & Movement
Let’s dance! This high-energy workshop will have you tapping your toes and shuffling off to Buffalo. Beginners and experienced dancers alike will have fun learning the Broadway basics.
