🚍✈️🚆 Transportation: Busses and Planes and Trains, Oh My!

One of our core values at Appel Farm is Community—and that includes you! We believe that when families are part of the journey, campers feel even more supported and empowered. That’s why we encourage you to drop off and pick up your camper in person whenever possible. It’s a great way to help your camper get settled, see firsthand how much they’ve grown, and connect with our amazing staff and Camp Directors.

However, we understand that travel logistics don’t always make that possible, so we also offer convenient transportation options from Philadelphia, New York City, and Northern New Jersey.

🚌 Camp Bus Transportation

Families may choose to have their camper ride the Appel Farm Bus from:

The bus will arrive at camp between 2:00–4:00 PM. Caregivers must check in with an Appel Farm staff member before leaving the bus stop.

💸 Cost: $75 each way
📝 Important: Register via your Household Portal ASAP to guarantee a seat.

✈️🚆 Plane, Train, and Commercial Bus Travelers (Philadelphia)

We offer pickup from Philadelphia International Airport and 30th Street Train/Bus Station only. Campers should plan to arrive between 1:00–2:30 PM on Check-In Day. Early arrivals will need to wait at their pickup location until the camp driver arrives.

💸 Cost: $40 each way
📱 Requirement: Campers traveling alone must bring a cell phone and charger
💬 Please send your camper’s itinerary and cell number to camp@appelfarm.org

Camp staff (in Appel Farm t-shirts, holding a sign with your camper’s name) will meet travelers inside baggage claim. If your camper is flying as an unaccompanied minor, let us know—our staff will attempt to meet them at the gate, though this may not always be possible.

✅ What You Need to Do

  1. Complete the Transportation Form in your Household Portal
  2. Send a copy of your camper’s itinerary to camp@appelfarm.org
  3. Wait for a confirmation email from us—your travel plans are not confirmed until you receive it
