Camp Caretaker
Job Title: Camp Caretaker
Classification: Non-Exempt
Reports to: Dani Cooke, Executive Leader of Infrastructure
Pay Rate: $16.50/hour
Schedule Options:
- Weekday Position: Monday–Friday, 4:00 PM – 10:00 PM (30 hours/week)
- Weekend Position: Saturday & Sunday, 4:00 PM – 10:00 PM (12 hours/week)
Position Overview:
The Camp Caretaker is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in key camp facilities to ensure a comfortable and hygienic environment for campers and staff. This role focuses on the upkeep of all camp bathrooms, restocking sanitary supplies throughout, and maintaining cleanliness in the dining hall.
This position will work in spaces where campers and their belongings are present and requires a child-friendly, inclusive, and positive demeanor.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clean and maintain camp bathrooms, including sinks, toilets, and floors.
- Restock sanitary items such as paper towels, toilet paper, and soap.
- Mop the dining hall floor each night to maintain cleanliness and safety.
- Conduct regular checks to ensure cleanliness and report any maintenance issues.
- Follow all health and safety guidelines related to sanitation and cleaning procedures.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Reliable and detail-oriented with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work independently and manage tasks efficiently.
- Previous experience in custodial or housekeeping roles is a plus but not required.
- Previous work in a school or camp environment is a plus.
- Must be able to perform physical tasks, including standing, bending, and lifting up to 25 lbs.
