Alycia Kaufman-Wright

Camp Director
(she/her)

Alycia is thrilled to join the Appel Farm Arts Camp community as Camp Director this summer. She has years of experience directing summer camps, after-school programs, and youth enrichment, and is the co-founder of Huntingdon Children’s School, a nature based preschool in Abington, PA, which she opened alongside her mom. Earlier in her career, she developed and directed a children’s theater program at the YMCA, where she led musicals and gave young performers the opportunity to experience the magic of the stage while building confidence and teamwork skills.

Her love of theater began as a young girl when she saw Wicked for the first time, a moment that left her completely mesmerized and sparked a lifelong passion for storytelling and live performance. Alycia has experienced the arts from multiple perspectives, having performed on stage herself as well as spending two years behind the scenes as a stage crew member. Those experiences shaped her deep appreciation for every role that brings a production to life.

She was drawn to Appel Farm’s commitment to artistic exploration and its strong sense of community, and she believes camp is where creativity and confidence flourish across every art form. Alycia lives with her partner, Arturo, and their son, Adrian (born in 2025), who will be joining the community this summer as a “Little Appel.” She is honored to lead this vibrant artistic community and is committed to cultivating a summer where every camper feels inspired, supported, and empowered to explore their creativity, build meaningful connections, and grow in confidence both in their art and in themselves.
