ARTS AND WELLNESS AT APPEL FARM
Appel Farm strives to co-create experiences that inspire people to unleash their inherent creativity, leading to self-discovery, personal growth, community building, and joy. Our programs combine traditional art-making activities with integrated learning experiences, offering an interdisciplinary process that incorporates physical and emotional health and community building as part of the art-making experience. Our history of programmatic success is a strong foundation upon which to meet the ongoing wellness needs of the South Jersey regional community, which have been exacerbated by recent crises including the pandemic, reckoning of equity and racial justice, climate crisis, and supply chain demand.
Through our arts and wellness initiative, Appel Farm offers a range of free on-site and community programs, working collaboratively with local businesses and social service partners who share our values and believe in an interdisciplinary approach to wellness. As the signature event of our arts and wellness initiative, the Healthy HeARTS Festival aims to provide wellness resources; uplift artists and partners in the region who integrate arts and wellness into their work; and encourage creative, fun ways to explore artistic avenues towards personal health and community wellness. Key areas of focus for the Festival include sustainability; restorative mental health practices; and movement-based activities that promote improved physical and mental health.
